This year I went to the memorial for Abigail Gumbiner, a talented and prolific artist and mother to my dear friend Tamar Halpern. I met her widow, Master Lithographer and painter Peter Holmes. Peter gave me a tour of his studio and immediately my eyes were drawn to a series of paintings stashed in a corner - people raging against the machine, martial artists, Native American warriors and fierce samurai all done in a Rorschach style that made them come alive. So the Warrior Series was born, a collaboration between MK and Peter Holmes. Abigail put a paintbrush in Peter’s hand and I can’t help but think that she brought us together to share the results with the world.
